Well what a crazy second half of the year! My attempt to post on this blog once a month in 2021 was a bit of a failure, but oh well, we start again. Summer of 2021 was insane. I got to complete 3 public art projects and do my first few murals. Participating in Rooms to Let 2021 was one of the highlights of my artistic career. I have never gotten to work on such a large public scale before and it was amazing collaborating with the Visit Arts Collective. I think the final mural stretched almost 80 feet long! I loved getting to use woodcut in a completely different way and made about 150 hand cut woodcut flowers. Fall of 2021 was dominated by my solo show at Summit Artspace titled "Babe, I Thought." It was a great way to bring together my work using chain link fences to explore relationship dynamics. 2021 was the year I really started to dive in to themes I have been thinking about for a long time. Relationships, memory and landscape have all shaped this work and i was so excited to have it culminate in this show.
2022 promises to be a busy, challenging and creative year and I hope to have you along for the journey!
